The book you have in your hands is an English translation of collected articles in Thai published over the years in Matichon Weekly. A well known weekly magazine in Thai. To celebrate 260 years of Syamvamsa, the material from this column was sifted and selected only those on and about Sri Lanka. The material was translated into English by the author herself and edited with the help of Van. Dhammacetana (Jeanette Oosthuizen form South Africa). The material mostly historically based covers various fields of interest but still tied together on Sri Lanka. It has been arranged for presentation in a chronological order. The author is the first Thai woman to have taken the ordination lineage from Sri Lanka back to Thailand in 2001 hence the title of the book My Sri Lankan Lineage. The person who has given a great inspiration for the author to work on this book is H.E.Poldej Vorachat, the present (2012-2013) Thai ambassador to Sri Lanka. He invited the author to be part of this celebratrion of 260 years of Syamvamsa. He kindly invited the author and her team to visit Sri Lanka to prepare for this book in early 2013, during which his family took great care to see to the need of the team. Thus he is much responsible for the success of the book. Dr.Kanjana Suthikul took care to arrange the photos to match each article, and “Noina” our photographer presented her best work in this book. Also I am thankful to the bhikkhuni sangha who took care of the temple while I was away in Sri Lanka. To all the Maha Nayakas and bhikkhuni teachers I mentioned in this book, I bow with deep respect. A deep gratitude to Thai Tibet Center for being generous to consider publishing this book in time to celebrate 260 years of Syamvamsa. Most thankful to my readers for your constant feedback and support. May all be free from suffering.
